I think Rivera's job is safe for the remainder of the season... but it's his final with this team. He's coaching for a future job elsewhere...

I think if Rivera loses another 2, 3 in a row, he's out. I think this is the season of blood.

    And I'm good with that.

With the injuries and basically the timing Rivera is safe until the seasons end. What are you gaining by firing him in mid season? All active coaches (assistant) are tied to their teams. ANy coaches not on a team now (Gruden, Cowher for instance) would want to get at least some of their coaches from other teams and how could you change things in mid season what with 2-3 days of practice?
Rivera isn't going anywhere until Jan

I'm normally not for firing a coach until the end of the season, but if things are embarrassing, I'm not against it since regime change is coming anyway. if the O was doing what it had before, I'd say it's not a leap to move him up. But a year after we feared losing him, he's going to just be available as an OC again.

A trend of losing close games is a reflection on three people, in particular:

    1. Rivera
    2. Hurney
    3. Newton

In looking back at how many games this regime has given away in the final 5-10 minutes is staggering. I'm not in the locker room, so I don't know for sure, but going from Fox to Rivera is like going from meth to Marlboros.

Even in the lean Fox years, he has his finger on the pulse. Even when there were losing streaks, I always took comfort in knowing Fox had a proven track record, post-2003, of bringing things back around.

As a fan, I just don't know if Rivera has a feel for his players. Ultimate deligator, to a fault.

    I have no faith in:

    1. Rivera's ability to manage the game/clock/situations.
    2. Newton's ability to lead a winning drive, if asked to.
    3. Depth.

So, multiple blame to pass around for this shit of a season.
