You can make a highlight tape of any player in the NFL, including Daryl Worley.

Norwell is elite but not sure he’s the very best. He is, however, the very best paid.

Likewise, Breeland is not in the top 13, but he’s paid there. Happens every year.

No opinion on similar talent in second wave. Just pointing out that every year players are paid like the best at their position when they aren’t.

Compared to what Malcolm Butler just got from Tennessee - 30 million guaranteed - it's a good deal. I just don't like racing to the bottom with the rest of the league. People have this notion that the cap is going to keep growing forever. I don't think so.

then in year 4 you're dead up against the cap and realize the team over paid the players that helped it get 4 tiny improvements better. The hurney system!

Aaron Colvin is a much better player. Hurney probably watched partial film of about ten guys and became fixated on Breeland.

You shouldn't hire a GM who's at war with his ex-wife, and I mean that seriously. It's an extremely consuming job. These people literally have to work 18-20 hour days to stay ahead of the competition. You can't expect that level of commitment out of someone who's battling personal problems.

His cap number is definitely a problem, especially if a better player is available next spring. How many fucking times does this have to happen to us before we learn?

I don't think he's a bad player at all. I like his versatility. I liked him at Clemson. He's been up and down as a pro. Hopefully we get more of the up than down. My take on free agency is go hard or go home. I don't like getting a guy just to say you got a guy.
