...looking like a D-1 college football team. Its about time someone did. Doesn't make them world beaters or even a Bowl team, but they finally look like they'll show up this season.

Kinda easy to look like Div.1 when you play a Div 2 school though don't ya think?

They just looked like a Div.2 team! App being the best Div1 team team for a quite a few years could play with most Div 1 teams, as shown today. But if you are trying to make UNC look better...ok. I guess you will find out more next week.

ain't that the truth. James Madison was pre-season #8 at the same level as ASU. A win is a win - especially when they did it convincingly.

Go look at the meltdown on the State board to see how important an opening day win is.

I'm not saying UNC is a top 20 team but James Madison won the National Championship the year before ASU started their run. SO if App State can play with Michigan why can't James Madison play with UNC?

Well for starters they aren't technically Div-2, but regardless, last year they would've struggled against this type of opponent. Really this game was pretty much all UNC. It looked like they only had one mental lapse giving up the early TD. The second TD James Madison scored was a mop up TD, and I don't really even much consider that one. I like what Davis has done. Like I said they may not do a lot this year, but I expect them to compete every Saturday now. Also this showed a LOT of promise for the future of UNC considering there were a LOT of Freshmen and Sophomore's starting.

anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
they needed a game like this. Now playing in conference is a different thing, and we'll see where they are then, but I'm glad to see them have some pride.
