Kemba should have stayed out the rest of the season.

5 or so years ago, the Hornets blew up the team, stating "we don't want to be a team that only contends for the 7-8 spot and a first round exit each year".
And look where we are again.
We have no "star" players on the roster. Our best player is an ancient FA, and nearing the end of the line. We have no "young developing future stars" (other than maybe MKG, and that might be a reach). Our most recent draft picks don't even see the floor. Zeller, Kemba are role players at best on any other team.
Our market is too small to attract premier FA's. And to top it off, we have a coach who runs an unattractive / defensive game plan (which is as fun to watch as a Virginia Cavs college game).
All in all, it's quite depressing when you look at the big picture.
Is there any reason at all why we should be optimistic about the direction of this team right now ? :shame:

No reason I can think of.
Last year had more excitement and fun, this year had more injuries and disappointment.
Mediocre players tend get mediocre results.

They had 47 points at the end of the third quarter tonight.
They need to stop stealing a paycheck.

Good, they need to lose-out, and hope for a little lottery luck.
Backing into the playoffs and getting clobbered serves no purpose...all it does is cost us many , many slots in the draft (which is our only chance to better this mess of a team).

*** see the Panthers this year...winning that last game in Atlanta (while allowing us to back into the division title, which is ok I guess) cost us to drop 17 spots in the draft. Brutal.

I`m in agreement with your thoughts on this.

I understand that Jordan was the force to get Lance here and not Cho.
MJ please step away from player personnel...

Found this and thought it was interesting. Mind you that these numbers are from 2006, but certainly explains a player`s push to even squeak into the playoffs.

The city of Charlotte needs a little luck. Seems like everytime they have a shitty record someone else gets the top pick when a great player is projected to be there.

I`d come closer to saying they just don`t care about anyone who is not a winner.
