I can't remember the exact month, but the modern day WFNZ (AM & FM) is pretty much 20 years old this year . . . . . Over the years they've had some big names come thru here (or start their careers here)

-John Metaparrel (original SPORTSFLASH GUY): Now is the voice of Boston College hoops/football after working on WEEI (Bahston) morning show for years

-Steve Czaban: Was here for 2 years (?) before moving on to Sporting News/YAhoo! Sports Radio Network . . . Still works at 980am in DC I think . . . .

-Sandy Penner: Was here for 2 stints . . . Left for Tampa Bay and then came back and then wen back home to Philly . . . . Not sure where he's at now :( :( . . . .

Dave Jagelar: Former voice of UNCC 49ers hoops is now the voice of Nationals (MLB) Radio broadcasts

Brittney Cason: Former Sportsflash girl works at KOMP-FM (Classic Rock) station in Las Vegas; Cohost AM Drivetime Show

Mark Packer (Packman) & Taylor Zarzour: Host shows on Sirius/XM College Sports Nation channel

Matt Pinto: Former Hornets radio voice now works for the OKC Thunder on their radio network

Gerry Valliancourt: Worked for WRFX-AM (WFNZ's predecessor when their studios were out in NW part of town on Radio Road) in the early 90s . . . . Move to New Orleans w/Hornets in 2002 . . . Move to iheartradio/NoLa and did a small bit of time on local TV down there . .

Michele Tafoya (aka Mickey Conley): Worked for WRFX-AM (WFNZ's predecessor when their studios were out in NW part of town on Radio Road) in the early 90s . . . . Now works as sideline reporter for NBCs SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and hosts local radio show in Twin Cities . .
