    Strongly considering building one. Typical basic garage, 2 doors, 500 sq. ft. of living space above. 24'x28' or so. Doing hardiplank/architectural shingles/etc. to match the main house. Any GC types (MarlinFan, bring it!) got a rough idea of what something like this would cost - in the $50k range if you don't get raped?

    the Amish will do it for $15K. It'll take them a while to get all the way down to your place, but the savings will be worth it. Do you mind board and batton construction?

    I got a quote for doing virtually the same thing and it was around $70,000. Decided if I was going to pay that I might as well just buy a new house.
