It's been something new every time. Today it was field position. It's impossible to overcome drops when your best starting position is the 25 yard line.

 

The guys gave it 110%.

We ran the same concept on the two point play that we ran when Cam got sacked prior to Gano's missed FG. Detroit called the perfect defense for it both times. This team got badly outcoached despite having three extra days to prepare. Maybe Rivera's "get away from football" strategy after the Steelers game was a stupid fucking idea. Maybe our coaches need to start sleeping at the office until they figure out how to win a road game.


If a fucking fan on a message board is doing it, maybe the coaches ought to as well. Just a suggestion.

I have a coupla questions after this game:

The Cam sack/injury is perplexing as that's no less than the 3rd time he's been sacked around his knees/ankles with slight injuries with non-calls for going low at the QB. We've been called for less.

Where is 99 since he got paid? Every 3rd of 4th run play we give up gaping holes in the middle.

Why is LK repeatedly over-pursuing on run plays and getting washed out leaving huge holes? It's like the opposing O is using his woke of the play in advance and using is against him now.

Why can't 17 actually catch the ball consistently like a #1 wo?

Why do we go down the field on the first drive like we're gonna beat the fuck outa the other team and run them over, then decide to change ideology on offence from then on out and wonder why we go 3 and out from then on (until the last few mins of half/game)?

Cam, for is good as he is, will never get to the promised land and be nothing more than an above aver tease if he can't figure out how to not overthrow so much. He blew that 2pt conversion terribly. And it was an easy 2pts for the taking.

How can we play the best defense in the league and score tons, but can't score against average to shitty defenses?

How can a kicker make a 63 yd winning kick but blow xpts and short fgs?

Lack of consistency with this team, other than it's inconsistency, is maddening.

It was actually liberating for me yesterday. For only about the 5th or 6th time in history, I have missed a game as it is live- either in person or on TV. I wasn't able to see it yesterday, sans the first drive- where I was confident we were gonna beat the fuck outa them. Imagine my surprise when I was able to get back to it and that was during the Lions go ahead scoring drive. I was glad my time wasn't wasted for once.

 

BTW, Norvember has been up and down. Started out with a bang, then ended with thud (so far). One more chance against a decent team to make it a winning month, albeit shitty overall, imo, especially if we lose this week.

Terribly inconsistent. Typical of the team in general.

 

The moment I notice Gano struggling to sneak in extra points, I'm leaving him on the sideline unless it's absolutely necessary. We had to use him on 4th and long after Cam got sacked, but I would have gone for two after our second touchdown as well.
