I hope whoever buys the team stays as invisible as JR, regardless.

 

The visibility of the owner has no bearing on the success or failure of the team. This is similar to the PASSION fallacy that most fans have about players.

 

I simply mean I don't want a jerry jones-type owner.

 

That's not quite the same thing as being "visible", but yes, I agree that a meddlesome owner is usually not a recipe for success - although I do have to point out the different degrees of competence between Jerry Jones and someone like Jimmy Haslam. At TBR, we've consistently made the point - rightfully so, in my opinion - that the normal pipeline to becoming a head coach or GM doesn't always breed competent people. It's possible that Jerry Jones is better than any GM we've ever had.

And by 'invisible' I mean both in being non-meddlesome and not constantly having a microphone talking some stoopid shit. Especially political bullshit (not that Jerry does all that). I should've probably mentioned the likes of mark cuban along with jerry jones.
