    And so it begins.

    - Cam's arm is shockingly weak right now. I thought Jimmy Clausen was back. He had Shepard open on a deep post and badly underthrew him. He isn't getting any more accurate on the short stuff, either. I totally agree with what he said today about being a runner. He's not going to turn into Drew Brees.

    - Mike Adams is old and slow. He's not Roman Harper slow, but he's slow. Hopefully he isn't asked to play center field too often.

    - Garrett still can't catch and Sanchez still licks your grandmother's anal lint. Luckily, both players are clearly much further down the depth chart this year. Munnerlyn had the day off, so most of the slot reps went to Luke.

No, not the All-Pro linebacker. Some DB named"Luke". Yeah, I have no idea who the fuck that is either.

    - Shaq looks really, really good. This was not a full contact practice so I'm not going to get too fired up, but he looks like he gets it this year. I saw him blitzing a lot, so maybe Wilks has a different sort of role for him in mind.

    - McCaffery, on checkdowns alone, is going to be a huge boost for the offense. I know he's small as shit, but he's the most athletically gifted RB I've ever seen play for us.

    - Samuel is working exclusively at slot right now, and he appears to be behind Shepard on the meaningless training camp depth chart. There is definitely an emphasis on end arounds and reverses. The running game is going to be an adventure.

    - Joe Webb is now Joe Webb III, and he had a celebration with Cam that would have made the other two Joe Webb's proud. Cam is going to be fun to watch with the NFL loosening it's asshole on celebrations.

    - It's so fucking weird seeing Marty Hurney back. I don't think I'll ever get used to it, even after JR removes the interim tag.

    - Daeshon Hall appeared to tweak something at the end of practice. Hopefully it's minor because he's a very impressive specimen. Washington and the defensive staff need to unlock his full potential. It is definitely better than watching Kony Ealy's slow ass.

    - If God has a voice, I imagine it sounding like Ray Brown's.

    - TJ Graham is way down the batting order right now, but he might our best option to replace Ted Ginn. That mother fucker is fast. Also, Funchess and KB are tight ends. It's clever of the Panthers to list them as WRs, but they are tight ends. Let's just end this charade already.

    - I saw some plays with a fullback on the field, but those plays appear to be farther back in the playbook this season. When we used a "fullback" it was usually when a TE motioned into the backfield. Maybe it will change when they start hitting, but I'm estimating that 90% of what I saw was either two tight ens or three wide. The offense definitely has a different look and vibe, so for better or worse the "evolve" comments we heard all spring appear to be more than just offseason rhetoric.

    Media observation:

All credentialed photographers must stay outside the ropes with the fans. They looked like a bunch of angry cucks.

Even letting reporters stand on the sidelines during practice is kind of bogus, especially since most of them aren't even paying attention.

I haven't asked for press credentials in a while because I felt like such an asshole standing there in the past. There's no legitimate reason for reporters to be there.

And I don't think their wives belong in the showers, but that's a different issue that we don't need to rehash.

I did the press deal in 2011. Was cool because it was Rivera and Cam's first camp. But it is ridiculous just to stand around all day like a mouth breather.

That's the same time Gantt was demoted to covering Winthrop softball. Funny shit.
