Sports Illustrated suggested it and I can't say that I disagree if Gettleman has decided not to pay him close to what he wants.

Would could they hope to get? Along the same lines as what Arizona paid for Chandler ?

So Gettleman released Norman to free up "hog molly"; i.e. Short, money? Tasty pick, bonehead.

I think Wilks will be the scapegoat for the cornerback shitshow, unfortunately.

I was searching for a thread from a short while back in which I commented something along the lines of "if Short turns out not be worth a shit", and caught a little grief over such a suggestion. I don't recall the thread, or who responded, and it truly doesn't matter. I said with no intent of sounding ridiculous, as I saw something sorely lacking in his play. Turns out I was right. I really wish I weren't.

The crazy thing, at least to me is that this was a year for a potential contract boost for Short, right? And though Star may be out of position, how invisible can a starting lineman be?

He's still been a good player. There was always going to be a regression from last year's dominant performance, but him and Norman are typically players you'd love to keep around.

For a point of reference, Chandler Jones was traded for a 2nd round pick and a player (Jonathan Cooper, a former first round pick). I think Gettleman may surprise us by resigning him, though. I have nothing to base that on except a feeling.

Cooper was more of a throw in than anything else.
